How can I transpose columns into rows in excel (a little more complex of a case)
Say I have a detail with about 10,000 rows, where each row is broken out into an arrangement, and I have columns for each month of the arrangement where an amount is recognized. So it would be like (...some customer information..., arrangement #1, January, February, ... December). How can I make a separate row for each month in excel? So the rows would now look like (... some customer information..., arrangement #1, January) then (...some customer information, arrangement #1, February). Is there a tool within excel I can use? Is there a formula that would help me? Thanks!

What makes this more complex than any other columns to rows transposing? Can you mock up an example to illustrate? It's hard to understand from this verbal description.

It seemed hard to transpose with a function because it required the creation of multiple new rows while pulling in the other data for each arrangement into each newly created row. I actually solved the problem much more simply. Just copying and pasting the detail into different tabs for each month and then manually combining all of them

Select the entire range, then copy, paste-special transpose will transpose everything. It isn't clear from the question what would be different from that.

That isn't it I don't think you understood the question. All good though I solved it thanks!

The question isn't very clear, which makes it not especially useful to other readers as-is (the purpose of the site is a knowledge base of questions and solutions that can be shared by others). It would help if you could mock up a simple example to make the requirement clearer. Since you solved it, you could also post an answer with your solution to help others with the same problem. But if you are satisfied to just abandon a question that's unclear to others, consider deleting it.
