ubuntu prefer wifi over mobile internet
I'd like to configure internet connection on device with ubuntu 18.04 LTS using wifi and 3g dongle. I'd actually set up both ways via wlan0 and ppp0 interfaces, but my goal is to make wifi preferable over 3g, so device should try to use wifi and only if connection cannot be made it should try through 3g. I've already tried with ifmetric but it gave me nothing. My route table after that looks like:
Kernel IP routing table
Destination Gateway Genmask Flags Metric Ref Use Iface
default 0.0.0.0 0.0.0.0 U 1000 0 0 ppp0
10.64.64.64 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.255 UH 1000 0 0 ppp0
192.168.0.0 0.0.0.0 255.255.255.0 U 10 0 0 wlan0
but still all packets go through ppp0. I've also tried deleting default route and adding new with:
sudo route del default ppp0
sudo route add default wlan0
but then I couldn't connect to internet.
It's forbidden for me to use NetworkManager, actually I had to remove it.
Could anyone help me with this?
