running Ubuntu from a USB drive: no wireless

0

Followed the tutorial for installing Ubuntu on a flash drive using the balenaEtcher on my Mac. Rebooted with alt/option key.

  1. Asked for a wireless network to connect to, I gave it the correct password for my network

  2. Two Gold EFI images show up to choose from along with the Mac drive

  3. Either one will boot to the Ubuntu main screen but it won't recognize the wireless. It says I don't have a wireless adaptor installed.

  4. Also doesn't recognize or discover my bluetooth keyboard and mouse.

What did I do wrong? (Installed on USB 18.04.1 desktop-amd64)

Apps all work, very nice system but with no wireless.
