Can you force enable NFC in the android system files?
Problem:
My sister's android phone has got a custom android rom that doesn't use the NFC functionality of the phone.
Is there a way to edit say system files to "force enable" the NFC feature in the Android OS?
We need it to read the freestyle libre sensor, because she's got diabetes.
When searching Google I do not find the answer to my question.
P.S. I can edit system files, the phone is rooted, if that was not clear.

I may have found something, please tell me if it is correct: I can edit the compatibility_matrix.xml file in /system/ and paste in the nfc part in the example in here: source.android.com/devices/architecture/vintf/comp-matrices
