converted internal hdd to external , it is reading as RAW filesystem

0

I have internal hdd 500GB from laptop, it has grub loader for dual boot, Windows partition, Linux in ext4 partition, swap partition, and other ntfs partition,

I have turned this internal hdd to be external by using hdd enclosure,

but when I plug it into usb port, my pc won't read all partitions, It just showing one partition as RAW filesystem and it need to Format it.

Disk Management is also showing one partition as RAW filesystem , Is there any way to fix it?

btw, hdd is in good health, it's not encrypted,

hdd enclosure is perfect and is working with another hdd, just to make sure it's not hardware problem.

Thanks!

  • What OS are you reading the drive with?

  • You have multiple partitions, including partitions formatted using file systems Windows does not recognize by default. It seems to me that is your problem. Either you install a filesystem driver to allow Windows to recognize the filesystems it does not yet recognize, or you view the drive in an OS that recognizes all of the involved file systems.

  • This is a common problem with enclosures providing different disk geometry then the HDD itself uses. I've not yet found a good, easy solution - use esata enclosure if your hardware supports it?
