Git cloning is too slow from GitHub

When I clone liferay repository from GitHub using GitHub Desktop, the download speed is very low and near 50Kb/s.
My download speed from other sites is about 2Mb/s
My location is Iran.
Liferay repository
Result via Git command in Iran :
$ git clone https://github.com/liferay/liferay-portal.git
Cloning into 'liferay-portal'...

Do you haveGitinstalled? If so, try usinggit clone https://github.com/liferay/liferay-portal.gitinstead, just for the sake of comparison.

Since you're in Iran, I would assume it's a deliberate slowdown by the local gov't. But do you get the same results also when cloning viassh://git@github.com/liferay/liferay-portal.git, or evengit://github.com/liferay/liferay-portal.git?
