how to recover already installed Ubuntu after logging through USB installed ubuntu?
I had Ubuntu 16.04 installed in my laptop. Most of the packages were already lost in this version. One of the important package was "dpkg & similar other packages" which prevents installation of any new package and also prevents system update. Even in this situation I was abusing my Ubuntu to the fullest. But two days ago this version of Ubuntu gave up and hence gave an error while booting. The error it gave me while booting was - "fsck error on boot: /dev/sda6: UNEXPECTED INCONSISTENCY; RUN fsck MANUALLY"
After some googling I found a command "fsck /dev/sda6 -y" which took me out of the above error, but after two hours of showing error lines.
After that in my first boot the Ubuntu booted only to the "read only mode" i.e. "TTY1" and not booting to the Graphical mode. I tried installing desktop thru sudo in this TTY1 mode but was not able to bcoz of previous dpkg error.
So now the thing I want help in -
I now logged into my laptop thru live USB of same Ubuntu 16.04. I checked data on my drives & it was there. Even the C drive files(where Ubuntu was installed previously)was there.
Just tell me is it possible that while I'm logged in thru live USB can I recover my previous version of system with all the files in desktop & download folders. If yes then please tell me how?? I think this is possible because previously login was possible thru TTY1 read only mode.
If there is any other way then please tell me wht it is?
dual-boot grub2 dpkg fsck
