Cannot install the Sims 4 from Origin through PlayOnLinux because vc++ environment not installed
I am trying to install The Sims 4 through Origin using Play On Linux but just when the game is finalizing the installation it says that a vc++ environment isn't installed or something along these lines (error code 16389). I have gone into the configuring menu and installed every component called vcrun[year] because installing just one didn't solve the problem. Now I have all vcruns installed but the problem isn't solved. Any suggestions?

I don't know how PlayOnLinux works but I'd suggest using Wine instead. It's painless to configure and get it to work, plus vcrun comes with Wine, you just need to include some external libraries to make The Sims work.

POL runs on top of Wine and is specialised for games. So I am still using wine so the problem will probably remain eveb if I switch to pure wine
