Not able to detect wireless Network after installing Ubuntu 16.04 Server on Dell Inspiron 15, 7000 series

I need advise as to how I can go ahead with
installation of Ubuntu Server(16.04) on my Dell Inspiron 7000 Series.
Since this model has an inbuilt wireless Intel card it is detected wlp7s0. All goes well So far with the installation off Ubuntu 16.04 Server. Now it comes to install packages. To connect to Wireless AP I need to install a package known as ****Wireless Tools****.
I am then not able to connect to wireless AP. I then add an external USB to Ethernet convert, it reads it as a bad connection when I enter the ifconfig command. So I don't know how to proceed from here.
