Automount external HDD when some app try access it files using symlink?

0

I try move all my VirtualBox's Virtual Machines from general system SSD to external bigger HDD(NTFS). HDD have no auto-mount, just mount when I try access it using Nautilus or Double Commander.

I think about:

  1. When I mount this external HDD I receive path like /home/mature/C253CF8F54CF3121/ to use it FS. I can make copy of my content to some dir on this HDD and make ln -s using this /home/mature/C253CF8F54CF3121/ path and path to VBox Machines. But I not sure this ID = C253CF8F54CF3121 is static and will not changed in future.

  2. Second: I not sure this HDD will be auto-mounted when VBox app try run this VBoxes using this symlinks.

What is correct way to realize this, if way exist in my case?
