How do I use Gpg4Win as a remote gpg agent from my Ubuntu server?
I have Ubuntu Server 18.04 running on one machine, and Windows 10 running on another. I use Gpg4Win + Putty to authenticate via SSH to connect to the Ubuntu machine from the Windows machine.
On this Ubuntu machine, I often times use Git to commit to a repository. I want Git on my Ubuntu machine to sign my git commits using my GPG private key registered on my Windows machine. Basically, I want this to happen:
- Make a commit (with
commit.gpgsign
set totrue
) on the Ubuntu machine
gpg-agent
on the Ubuntu machine should delegate over SSH togpg-agent
running on my Windows machine to sign the commit
Note that I do not do any of that GPG agent socket setup stuff on Windows. This is why I use Putty on Windows. Is this even possible? Note that my goal here is to avoid having my private GPG key on my server machine.
server ssh windows git gnupg
