Is there a way to show an outline around the mouse cursor on mouse down on OSX?

Is there a way to visually show when the mouse is down or up in OSX? This would be OS wide.
For example, the trackpad has different click pressures and I want to see when the mouse is down. I would like to show an outline around the cursor when the mouse is down and then it disappears when the mouse is up.
