Map USB code to CTRL

0

Besides the common left and right mouse keys, my mouse has a left and right button on the side. I want to map the left side button to CTRL, i.e., pressing and holding the left side button should correspond to pressing and holding CTRL on the keyboard. For example, this enables me to hold the left side button while scrolling to zoom the window.

Is this possible?

I have tried out keytouch-editor, it can recognize the corresponding mouse button, but apparently offers no CTRL mapping.
