You don't install Pygame with the Python interactive shell. What OS are you using?

Please post your questions as a comment, not an answer. This is the second one in a row. The command was my mistake since you're using Python 3. That error means you do not have python 2.x in your path variable. Since you're using python 3 change the command to python3 -m pip install -U pygame --user That should work.
