Ubuntu 18.10 display problem

I have Ubuntu 18.10 installed on a laptop with nvidia 410 graphics driver (1070). I have two screens: I usually connect through any of two of a mini display port, HDMI and USB-C. I am seeing a weird problem recently: at any point, one of the screens will work, typically the right one. Not at all sure how to debug this: any help will be appreciated.
