Dimmed window when accessing filesystem through apps - Ubuntu 18.04 LTS

0

I'm experiencing an issue whereby applications are dimming (a grey colour) and being unable to use when I try to access the file system through saving or opening a file.

Example 1. The window in LibreOffice dims when I try to save a document.

Example 2. Attempting to open an .iso file in Virtualbox results in the VM specific window freezing but the other windows in the application work fine.

I've dual booted from a device also running MacOs Mojave.

Is there an issue with permissions, or is this a common problem?

Edit: This solved my problem. The OS thought I had two displays. Settings > Devices > System Display > Change to single display.
