MergeList Error and no Package: header

I was installing guest additions for Ubuntu 14.04 in VirtualBox earlier but something went wrong and I cannot seem to format my resolution size(stuck at 640 x 480). I was running the "apt-get install virtualbox-guest-dkms" command to get some features back but I keep on getting this error:
Encountered a section with no Package: header
Problem with MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/packages.ros.org_ros_ubuntu_dists_trust_main_i18n_Translation-en
The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.
I've tried all the other solutions posted on here but none seem to work. Any help is appreciated.
