2 laptops with community wifi want to make 2nd laptop as extended monitor [closed]
Windows 10
trying to have laptop 2 as a second monitor to laptop1.
In the latest version of windows 10 there is the project display
option with additional options to 'extend' the display
to another network device.
The 2nd laptop shows up on the network when selecting 'project'
but looks like either needs other windows display drivers
or casting software.

What leads you to believe that setting "Extend Display" on any of your laptops means it will attempt to use the other laptop as an external extended display? Are you speaking of some third party utility you have not explained? Please use the EDIT button to improve your question, because right now it is not clear what you are asking.

This is not unclear whatsoever.. Windows has a built in ability (on devices that support recieving Miracast) to extend/project its' display to another networked (Windows) PC. It's explained here.

OP, go into your settings and make sure Laptop 2 supports recieving miracast. if it doesn't, you cannot extend your display to it.
