Error when using k3b program can't change settings

0

My CD drive broke and I'm using an external CD drive (via USB) and I get this error:
K3b needs write access to all the devices to perform certain tasks. Without it you might encounter problems with TSSTcorp - CDDVDW SE-S084C Solution: Make sure you have write access to /dev/sr2. In case you are not using devfs or udev click "Modify Permissions..." and setup permissions by hand

I tried this https://www.kubuntuforums.net/showthread.php/72439-K3B-Won-t-Write-Permissions-Problem but clicking does not change the settings in the permissions tab which is very strange, clicking does nothing,am I missing something? (I also have no idea how to change settings from the terminal/Konsole)
Also some of the text on k3b page underneath the list of tracks I want to add is so faded I can't even read what it says.

I tried using Brasero but it kept crashing and I really want to have the setting for normalizing volume levels and choosing track order is also a feature I want to keep.
Thanks!
