Can I not insert a QR-Code as a .svg in a PowerPoint Presentation?

1

I have an Illustration (created with Adobe Illustrator) which has a QR-Code on it.

When I export this as an .svg, I can open it in Internet Explorer or any photo viewer and it looks just as I want it to look, with a QR-Code and everything.

However, when I add this .svg into a PowerPoint presentation, the QR-Code is missing!

I tried that with multiple .svg, even the QR-Code on it's own, but it just showed white space instead of the QR-Code (which should be a normal black QR-Code).

When I export my Illustration as a .png it shows the QR-Code on the PowerPoint presentation, but that does not fit my needs, since i want it to be scalable vector.

Why does this happen and how can I add my svg with QR-Code into my Powerpoint presentation?

I'm on Office 365, Powerpoint 2016

  • SVG support in PowerPoint is fairly new; the developers are regularly working on expanding the number of SVG features they support; perhaps this SVG uses a feature that's not on the supported list yet. If you'd like to provide a description of how the SVG was created (software, version number, etc.) and a link to the SVG itself on Dropbox or the like, I can test it on the latest update to O365 and if it still doesn't work, get it to the devs at MS. If you can also post a link to the source Illo file, that'd be even better.
