dual boot - Ubuntu Installation Freezes on Loading Screen - MSI GV62 7rd

0

I have Windows 10 installed on my laptop MSI GV62-7rd. I want to install Ubuntu 18.04 alongside the windows but it always gets stuck on the purple loading screen.

I had installed Ubuntu 16.04 earlier alongside the windows and it worked just fine. I uninstalled it the regular way.

I have tried all the solutions for the problem I could find:

  1. Having Boot mode set as UEFI (as my windows is installed in UEFI)

  2. Typing nomodeset and nouveau.modeset=0 to both the Install Ubuntu and Try it Live options

  3. Having Fast Boot off and Secure Boot disabled (and all the combinations like fast boot = off, secure boot = enabled)

  4. Having Fast Startup turned off in windows.

None of them work and it always freezes on the purple loading screen.

System Specifications:

Model: MSI GV62-7rd
CPU: Intel i7-7700HQ
GPU: Nvidia 1050 4gb
Ram: 8 GB
HDD: 1 TB

PS: Sometimes it does go to the desktop in Ubuntu in the 'Try Ubuntu Before Installing' option but everything is non-clickable on the desktop, no keyboard shortcuts work and so I can't do anything there.
