Unable to Connect to Wireless Network Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS
I am using Ubuntu 18.04.1 LTS and I am unable to connect to wireless networks. I am able to see networks in network manager, but when I try to connect, I get a “connection failed” message. This is not specific to one network (I could not connect to a mobile hotspot). I am using a Qualcomm Atheros AR93xx wifi card connected via PCI. I have used this card before on windows without any problems.
I already tried disabling hardware-side encryption, restarting the computer, and resetting the router.
Dmesg says something like:
ADDRCONF(NETDEV_UP): wlp3s0: link is not ready
[Repeated 3 times]
authenticate with [MAC address]
send auth to [address] (try 1/3)
[3 times]
authentication with [address] timed out
Then the authentication attempts repeat several times, followed by another, identical NETDEV_UP message.
Does anybody understand what is going on or how I can fix this issue?

Can you connect via Ethernet and update your os to see if it grabs the proper driver for your wireless card?

I did that, updated/upgraded through both apt and gui software update, no luck I’m afraid.
