Need help removing one last folder from Explorer shell dialogs: The “Browse For Folder” User folder

0

Does anyone know how to hide/remove the User folder from the "Browse For Folder" shell dialog?

Take a look at my screenshot for what I mean. The first example is a 7-Zip Extract: Browse For Folder dialog and the second is a ClipX Install: Browse For Folder dialog.

I was able to remove it from most other Explorer "places" by following the standard procedure:

  1. Take possession of {59031a47-3f72-44a7-89c5-5595fe6b30ee} in HKCRCLSID and HKCRWow6432NodeCLSID

  2. Add "System.IsPinnedToNameSpaceTree"=dword:00000000

  3. Change Attributes inside ShellFolder to f094012d

I'm specifically working on Windows 8.1 and this is the last tweak I need to make before I'll call it good. Whatever the solution, it will most likely apply to win7, win8 and win10, as well - and I'll update the tags if it is so.

This superuser question helped a bit, but ultimately didn't solve my problem.
