npm install: “/usr/local/bin/g++-4.2: No such file or directory” with Xcode installed
In some cases when I run npm install on existing projects I am getting an error on macOS Mojave (10.14.2):
make: /usr/local/bin/g++-4.2: No such file or directory
make: *** [Release/obj.target/libsass/src/libsass/src/ast.o] Error 1
gyp ERR! build error
gyp ERR! stack Error:
makefailed with exit code: 2
gyp ERR! stack at ChildProcess.onExit (/Users//myproject/node_modules/node-gyp/lib/build.js:262:23)
gyp ERR! stack at ChildProcess.emit (events.js:182:13)
gyp ERR! stack at Process.ChildProcess._handle.onexit (internal/child_process.js:237:12)
I have XCode and the command-line tools installed, but the directory it requests is missing. I do have g++-8 in that directory.
The computer is fairly recent (August 2018).
What can I do to resolve this? Thanks!
