ffmpeg created video does not run on most browser

I created 900 pictures with POV Raytracer and used

ffmpeg version 2.8.15-0ubuntu0.16.04.1 

ffmpeg -f image2 -r 30 -i 'Faistenau%03d.png' -preset veryslow output.mp4

to make a video out of it.
The video works fine on Chrome under Ubuntu 16.04 and Windows 10
but fails on most other browsers:

Firefox Linux version,

Firefox Windows version,

Chrome Android version,

iPhone Standard Browser.

The videos created with FFmpeg are on
