Broken USB drive

I've used that flash drive for booting OS on it and later as I was formatting it, I accidentally stopped the process. Right now the only way that I can detect it is by typing command: "ls /dev/ | grep sd" and then I notice it named as sdc, but when I try "fdisk -l" - I cannot see it in the list. I'm logged in as a root user (in case someone would decide to recommend to use sudo). Yes, I've tried "fdisk /dev/sdc".

Thanks upfront for any recommendations / tips !

    1. Are there important files on the drive, files that you want to recover? Or can you overwrite and format it directly? 2. See this link and links from it in order to analyze the problem, and if you are lucky, solve the problem: Can't format my usb drive. I have already tried with mkdosfs and gparted
