Installing Android Studio on Chromebook

So, this has been a crazy process. Full of riddle-like error messages and failures. Finally, I have reached a step when I am stumped. Whenever I try to do a Gradle sync using Gradle 3.1, I get a message saying "No server to serve request. Check logs for details."

When I look up this message, StackOverflow posts (here) say that I am missing packages, I ran the command they recommended in that post, and it gave an empty result, meaning I have all the packages. Then I found another post, this time by Google (here), which gives a command for me to run. Each and every one of those packages returned a "unable to locate package" error. Keep in mind, this is on a Linux Beta-compatible Chromebook. So, I am entirely stumped.

To add on to this, whenever I open Android Studio, it tells me that mksdcard tool could not be run. I am praying that someone on this site can help get this sorted out.

Thank you so much,
Jack Richard
