Port forwarding over OpenVPN

0

I use an LTE router behind NAT for my home Wifi, and use a VPN tunnel from my router to a VPS running Ubuntu and OpenVPN hosted on DigitalOcean.

I want to configure forwarding of inbound traffic to the VPS over a set of ports to the router, which is a VPN client of the VPS.

I am guessing I need to set up some iptables config to forward traffic hitting eth0 to a certain 10.x.x.x IP on tun0, but I am not that great at iptables config.

Also, do I need to set up some specific configuration to ensure that my router always gets assigned the same 10.x.x.x IP on tun0 so I can ensure the config still works when there are multiple VPN clients?

  • To me it is not clear what you want. Is your VPS the VPN-Server? Is your Router the VPN-Client? Do you want that all your LAN-devices that are directly connected to your router will be able to communicate with your VPS and vice versa by using the vpn-tunnel that your router creates to the vps?
