“/bin/bash: g++: command not found”

0

I am new to ubuntu and facing problems in running c++ code.

> Executing task:  g++ -g hello.cpp -o hello.out && clear && ./hello.out <
/bin/bash: g++: command not found
The terminal process terminated with exit code: 127

I tried many instructions but not solved.

sudo apt-get update

sudo apt-get install g++

Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

    Did you install build-essential with sudo apt install build-essential? It installs all the other required libraries as well as gcc/g++

  • BTW, for the update errors, see What can I do if a repository/PPA I added does not have a Release file?

  • Could the issue be that you have (somehow - perhaps by temporarily enabling Ubuntu "Disco Dingo" repositories) installed gcc version 4:8.2.0-2ubuntu2 in place of the default 8.2.0-1ubuntu1 wanted by Cosmic?
