Dual-Boot Windows 10 and Ubuntu 18.04 on HP Pavilion x360
Total Newb, so forgive me if I say something dumb.
I have an HP Pavilion x360 (11m-ad013dx). I've updated the BIOS to HP's version 44. I've disabled Secure Boot. I have Windows 10 fully installed, updated, with Fast Boot disabled. I have installed a 1 TB SSD with 100 GB partitioned off for Ubuntu.
Please note: I'm trying desperately to do this WITHOUT wiping the Windows drive, since it has work data on it.
I can hit ESC, boot my Ubuntu 18.04 USB stick and then get to the install screens. I can go through the steps - like I did with my HP Omen laptop - and it begins to install. However, it ALWAYS hangs on "installing grub2" and stops. No error messages that I see. (It does this with Mint 19, Deepin, etc.) I've logged in to the USB drive and tried boot-repair, which hangs, too.
I saw a description on another page: https://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2389104&highlight=11m-ad013dx
Unfortunately, they get it working by deleting all partitions.
Any ideas? Remember, I'm a newb to this, so speak down to me! You won't offend! :) Thanks in advance!
