Sound stutters on VLC on Macbook Air when playing large files
I'm trying to play a HD video file on VLC using Macbook air. The file type is MKV. It plays great, but if I stop the video for a moment, when I start it again the sound stutters, and the only way to solve it is to restart VLC.
The file is playing from my hard drive. I tried going to Input / Codecs and changing the file caching to 3000, but the problem remains. The VLC version is 3.0.1.
Any advice? It's really annoying to play a movie and have to restart it any time I want to take a short break.

Before anything else, get the current VLC release 3.0.6 - there have been many changes since 3.0.1
