HDMI monitor not working (Ubuntu 18.04.2 LTS)

0

I've recently added a second monitor to my setup, and it's not working. Ubuntu recognizes the second monitor correctly, but my second monitor only displays a black screen. When I restart, the monitor will show the motherboard logo and Ubuntu's red background, but a few seconds before getting into the Ubuntu loading screen, it will turn itself black.

I'm using Ubuntu 18.04.2 and Intel Integrated Graphics (i5-7400). My main screen is a Samsung 23" connected through a DVI and my secondary screen is a Samsung 22" connected through and HDMI.

Things I've tried:

  • Connecting and disconnecting all monitors in different order

  • Used a VGA instead of an HDMI (It worked with the VGA)

  • Used the HDMI cable with another pc but same monitor (worked)

  • Update my Kernel and restarted the pc to apply the changes (sudo apt install linux-generic-hwe-18.04 xserver-xorg-hwe-18.04)

  • Change the resolution and refresh rate of my monitor

  • Check monitor settings and sources

  • Sudo apt update && apt upgrade
