Specific keyboard keys are not being recognized. Laptop
I started up my laptop today and discovered that many of the keys are non responsive. This includes
(3,4,5, =)
(e, r, t)
(d, f, g)
(c, v, b, n)
In addition the F1, F2, F3, esc, prt sc, and caps lock key appear non-functional.
The only diagnosis report I have received is an 601 error due to the battery. I read that this can be a cause however the problem still persists after the battery pack is disabled.
The keys are not stuck and the functioning keys work perfectly fine in the os without any delay. I have also ran a malware scan which turned up nothing.
The laptop is a Compaq Presario CQ62, it was bought used so I cant guarentee it has the original hardware.
Also I have recently moved closer to the coast and my apartment has a higher humidity then my old one (I.E cold damp air) could water damage be a possible factor?
I apoligize for the length but if theres any other information you need Ill try my best to find it.

If a cold reboot doesn't help, test a USB keyboard to see if the issue is hardware or software.

The reboot didnt solve the issue. My usb keyboard works fine with the laptop and it recognizes the listed keys above. The problem seems to be hardware. Thank you.

On-Screen Keyboard works ok? Also, is it possible one of the non-printing keys (esc, function, etc.) is stuck? Tap on them to see if you notice anything.
