HDs randomly stops working on Ubuntu Desktop

I have this issue with my HDs in Ubuntu where they randomly stop working and I cant access and programs cant access the data on them. When I remount the HDs everything is fine. One HD is an external 4TB HD and the other is an internal 1TB HD, both of which are relatively new. I use Ubuntu to run a bunch of containers in docker for a media server. But like I said though every few hours when it runs the HDs cant be accessed. The OS itself resides on a SDD that doesnt seem to have a problem. I've tried permanently mounting the HDs in /etc/fstab but it doesn't stop the HDs from having the issue. Any help is greatly appreciated.
