I'm trying to use pnputil.exe within a command prompt on a brand new Windows 10 Virtual Machine using Virtual Box. PnpUtil
is a native windows application to install drivers. Located in C:WindowsSystem32
Problem:
PnpUtil.exe
is not recognised as an internal or external command
What I did:
- Checked the
PATH
,C:WindowsSystem32
is here. Checked
System32
folder to see ifpnputil
is here, and he IS. BUT only when I go with windows explorer. Whenever I usedir
in a command prompt,pnputil
does NOT appear (I double checked if I was in the right folder)Tried to launch it from a elevated command prompt
- Tried to launch it from within
System32
folder - Tried to launch it with his direct location ( I don't have the
english word) :C:WindowsSystem32Pnputil.exe
For all I tried, result is the same, the command is not recognized.
