From a recruiter point of view, would I have the same odds as any other engineer?
Is someone with a bachelor degree in Physics but a master degree in SomeEngineering
as likely to be hired, for a job position in that engineering field, as a someone else with both a bachelor and a master degrees in that field, ceteris paribus?
I'm expecting answers founded on experienced people from either HR management, Consulting or the engineering sector, ideally referring to some lived example(s).

Can you specify the job? because most degrees today are kinda useless

This could also differ from country to country. From my perspective, german consulting company with topics at the intersection of mechanical engineering and IT: For me it doesn't matter.

Whether being hired is largely depending on how you perform in interview, not the degrees you have. Degrees only help you as far as getting an interview.

@Roberto Torres, more than about a specific job position, I'm asking about a broader but still specialized job market sector, such as "working as an electrical engineer" or "be a MEMS designer", for example.

@tweray, you could then interpret my question as "would I have the same odds of getting to the interview?"
