Need to fix external hard drive after using it on windows computer.

After using my external hard drive on a windows 10 computer I attempted to mount it back on my linux system and now there are lock icons over every folder and file. I can still access files, but I can no longer save anything to my hard drive due to not having the right permissions. How do I restore my external hard drive so it allows me to write to disk again? Is there a specific command that will fix this issue? I am running Xubuntu 18
