Is there a way to initialize the top panel applets without launching the applications?

I have a few applications (Slack, Discord, etc.) which have applets in the top panel to show if they have notifications.
However, these applets only show, after the application has been launched at least once in the current session.

My question: Is there a way to "initialize" these top panel applets, to show if I have messages on Slack (for example) as soon as the computer starts, without actually launching the application?

What I've tried:

  • Lots of research... Couldn't make heads or tails of it and nothing I found directly answered my question.

  • I also tried to create a .desktop file in autostart with Hidden = true and noDisplay = true.

Specs (if needed):
I'm running Ubuntu 18.04 on a HP Omen with a NVIDIA 1050 Ti and an i7. I don't think it's needed, but just in case...

Help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance,
