Group Policy Network Shares without refresh in windows 10

Configuration

Windows Server 2016 Standard provides Active Directory Services and File Sharing (Domain Controller)

Windows 10 Pro workstation, joined to the domain.

Through Group Policy, User Configuration -> Preferences -> Windows Settings -> Drive Maps, I created file shares, used the method Replace.

Situation

I boot into windows 10, and the policy is affected, my network shares are made. However, Every 90 minutes, the network shares are removed and readded because Group Policy is being refreshed in the background on a 90 minute cycle.

The problem is, that I use music software that has my big music library and plugins reside on these network shares, and the moment the network share is disconnected, the program crashes. This actually happens with different music software, one more severe than others. In the past, I've toyed around with offline files, but that just is not the solution. I found a setting that basically says: Disable background policy refresh. Yes! This is what I need! But no... this appears to be broken in Windows 10. It works on a Windows Server 2016 Terminal server though, but not anymore on Windows 10.

Question

My goal is that I setup my network share mappings in such way that I can make changes to the shares and reapply them, but not have them being refreshed any other time. I am okay with the refresh taking place at login-logout.

Does anyone know how to deal with this?
